The fuel pressure regulator is part of the pump module in the fuel tank.
Usually a replacement fuel filter for a 2001 Jeep Cherokee runs anywhere from $47-57 depending on where you buy one. That does not include tax if you are buying online there is usually no tax if you are ordering out of state.
The fuel pressure regulator maintains 41 to 47 psi to the fuel injectors.
There is no adjustment, it is preset for 41 to 47 psi.
It is attached to the throttle body. Pressure should be 41 to 47 psi.
From the HAYNES MANUAL: With regulator vacuum hose attached: 31-38 psi ::: With regulator vacuum hose disconnected: 40-47 psi.
41 to 47 psi, pump running, engine off.
96 to 02 2.2L engine requires 41 to 47 psi fuel pressure.
With vacuum line (from fuel pressure regulator) OFF and pinched , pressure should be between 47-54 psi. With vacuum line ON fuel pressure egulator, pressure should be between 38-46 psi.
60 to 66 psi for the 4.3L. 41 to 47 psi for the 2.2L.
The only fuel filter on your Honda is in the fuel tank. You have to remove the fuel sender unit from the tank. This is accessed by removing the panel under the spare tire. The suggest service is to measure the fuel pressure with the fuel pressure regulator disconnected and the vacuum line pinched. If the pressure is below 47-54 PSI the filter should be replaced.
