GM vehicles are not equipped with a fuel pump inertia switch.
The thermostat on your 98 gmc is located in the intake manifold where the upper radiator hose connects to the intake.

you might want to try a throttle position sensor. that sounds like what my 98 safari 4.3 v6 was doing. it costs about $37.00 at autozone.

It don't have 1. If you want the fuel pump to NOT work then remove the fuel pump fuse are relay. That is the ONLY shut off there is.

GM vehicles do not use inertia/reset switches.
The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is by or behind the kick panel in the front passenger footwell

The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. You have to drop the tank or raise the bed up to get to it.
To replace the fuel pump, you must unhook the fuel lines from the fuel tank and remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. The fuel pump is actually inside the tank.
