It is under the dash on the drivers side. You will need to move the drivers seat all the way back to be able to get to it and see the fuses. The type of fuse box depends on if the car was a early or late 1981. Also the North American cars had the later fuse box with the push in fuses. The early and German made cars had the old fashion ceramic with brass over it fuses that sit in a metal plate under a copper top spring loaded contact. Rabbits are known for a leak developing in the lower portion of the left side of the windshield, or in the rain tray under the hood. Both produce a leak that drips directly into the fuse box and corrodes the contacts with massive rust. So if you find rusted contacts, plan on finding the leak and fixing it first, then replace the fuse box. Good luck!
