There is a fuse for the windshield washer pump, on your 1999 Ford Ranger. You can locate the correct fuse by looking at the diagram on the inside of the fuse box.
It has a belt and a chain. Belt driven from fuel pump to camshaft, and chain from crankshaft to fuel pump
the reason why it is blownig cold air out is probely because your water pump has packed up or it could be your thermostat has stoped working water pumps are around £60 and thermostat's are around £30 from a main ford dealer.

If its a ford mondeo diesel 2002 , the fuel pump is located under the rear seat covered by a large rubber gasket type cover.Unfortunately ford in their wisdom didnt locate the hole directly above the pump and you can only release the electrical connector. to replace the pump involves dropping the fuel tank from beneath the car and unless your fairly handy with a spanner and have the facilities i would really reccommend a garage
Hi, there is a lift pump in the tank, it is a fuel gauge sender & lift pump combined in 1 unit. I have changed 1 on a focus & mondeo tomorrow because no fuel being fired to the filters when ignition turned on.
