There is a red wire from the alternator output to the starter battery connection post That wire has a fusible link in it that may blown if someone hooked up a battery backwards. I think the fuse link is located on the starter end.
(Fuse # 23) is a 20 amp fuse for the data link connector and cigarette lighter in a 1998 Ford E-150 van ( located in the fuse panel below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal , there is a cover on the fuse panel )
If there is a smaller wire to the positive battery cable it probably has an inline fuse link in it. The fuse link is embedded in a hard plastic covering on most chevys. There are many causes for link to be bad, keep this in mind if you bypass the fuse link. Recommend replacing the positive battery cable. Ground cable connection should be checked. Do headlights work?
For the Data Link Connector ? It's fuse # 17 , a 20 amp fuse for the Data Link Connector , cigarette lighter in the fuse panel that is in the drivers end of the dash ( open the drivers door and you will see the removable plastic fuse panel cover in the end of the dash )

There is a fuse link which is not located with the rest of the fuses on this car. First find the fuse box located in the engine compartment on the driver's side.In front of that fuse box is a small rectangular container with a single wire going into each end. Undo the two screws holding the "lid" on this little box. Inside of the box is an 80 amp fuse link which is most likely bad (broken in two). This fuse link is available from a Mercedes dealership's service department for a couple of dollars.
By the fuse panel and also by the battery (The fuse panel would be by the drvier's steering column to the left i believe)
Mostly fusible link for starter solenoid is located very close to the battery or between the battery fuse and terminal.

Hi, The fuse that you are looking for actually labeled "BCM Programming" in the diagram I have. If you refer to the link I have provided, that fuse is number 47, and it is located in the Instrument Panel fuse block. This fuse block is accessible when you open the passenger side front door and remove the plastic access panel. Good Luck, Greg
The blower motor has two fuses. One is located in the fuse panel under or to the left of your dash. The other is located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. Usually , unless it has pealed off, you will find the diagram on the inside of the fuse panel cover which tells you what each fuse is for and what amperage fuse it should be replaced with. Hope this helps! Stay Cool!
The fusible link for the headlights on an Astro van is located in the fuse box under the dash just to the right of the steering wheel. There is also a fuse location on top of the battery in the engine compartment.
