Hey Joe==It is in the fuel line sot trace the line from the tank up to the engine. GoodluckJoe The primary filter is under the car back in front of the tank, on the drivers side. There is a secondary filter under the hood by the carberator. This one is a small inline filter. The fuel filter that normally needs to be replaced is the one inside the engine compartment on the firewall. It looks like a miniature oil filter. It can be difficult to get to without removing some other things first. If you replace it, be sure to wait until your engine and exhaust have cooled down. Fuel will leak from the filter when you loosen the bolts for the fuel line. Place a rag in this area to catch the fuel so that it doesn't spill onto your engine or exhaust. Also, your new fuel filter will come with new aluminum washers. Be sure to use these when reinstalling the fuel lines or else you will most likely have a leak.
You don't replace it. It is a permanent filter that will last the life of the fuel pump.
