On my 91 190e I had that problem once in a bit of a blonde moment. Apparently the gas tank door is linked to the door locks. The doors on the car must be unlocked for the gas tank door to open. I hope your problem is as simple as this.
If Its Like the 1990 model, it doesn't have one. Simply open the car, and press the front end of the gas cover towards the front. That should do it.
push a button
By using a tool box open the location and remove it to replace it with a new one
The motor for the unlock button must be bad. Or the cable is not connect properly. Hope this will help you.
Open the bonnet, remove the scuttle cover, wiper motor, and finally blower motor.
make sure the trunk is unlocked - then just push on the forward end of the cover door and it should tilt open. The trunk lock will also lock the fuel door.
There are two possibilities. Its either on the overhead console by the rear view mirror or on the center dash control switches below the heater vents.
if theres not a key hole then its probably a small button in the car otherwise you just pull it open.
There is no button. If you cannot open it from the switch on the inside, it is located in the trunk on the right hand side all the way in the back. The car manual has a diagram of where it is located.
Just push and hold the right button on the key.
with the button on the drivers door? How do you get in the car without keys though?
