If it is anything like a 1991 Blazer, I just replaced one. In my case, it was on the passanger side behind the glove compartment. You must obviously remove the lines leading to the heater core in the engine compartment adjacent to the blower fan. You might want to get some things out of your way like the plastic radiator reservoir to make it easier to get at the lines. Now, that is the easy part. I had to go inside and take out about 30 screws holding different plasticcovers to get at the heater core. There were a couple of different sizes, some 1/4 inch and some 5/16 and some were Phillips screws. Try to keep track of which ones go where. You have to take out the back panel inside the glove box to get at two or three of the screws holding on the cover over the heater core. You also need to take out a bigger 10MM screw (bolt) near the right side kick panel because you have to essentiall lift up the dash a bit to get at some of the screws and get the cover and heater out. Once you get the cover off and you can see the heater, you can take off two bottom screws holding the heater brackets. You can pull out the heater without taking off the top screws but if you loosen them, it makes it a bit easier. Then just do the reverse. Oh, the two heater core lines are soldered together and on some models you have to break the solder joint to get the lines through the firewall (what a pain). It is always helpful to have two doing this job, one to hold the flashlight and just there for moral support. The whole job took about 4 hours but it was worth it. No more wet, smelly floor on the passenger side. If you are not into all of this work and you really don't need a heater, you can simply disconnect the two lines in the engine compartment and get a double male adapter and bypass the heater core completely. Your choice. Good luck.

The heater core on most GM vehicles is located behind the dashboard. You must remove the entire dashboard to gain access to the heater core which is mounted to the backside of the firewall. try this: http://www.zr2usa.com/mboard/index.php?showtopic=19527&st=0&#entry405342
The heater core is located in the middle of the dash behind the center console. You have to take the console out to see the heater core.
You can but you still won't be able to get it out.
