India. The Bengal tiger is found in India, Bhutan, and Nepal. The royal Bengal tiger is usually found in the southern part of the Bengal tiger's range in India. It is distinguished by deeper orange color, and wider stripes than Bengal tigers over the rest of the range. Genetically, it is identical to other Bengal tigers.

It is also somewhat smaller than those Bengal tigers of the north, males average 425-475 pounds, as compared to the northern Bengals 480-520 pounds.
