the horn on my 94 LX just went off. I've pulled the fuse and hope that'll silence it, as do my neighbors. The fuse box is located inside, near the door on the driver's side. The fuse is #20, yellow, but be aware that it also is the brake light fuse. Good luck!
I have had 2 1992 Protege's give us the midnight wake up and both were caused by the same thing. It seems that the horn switch in the steering wheel is nothing more than 2 metal plates separated by a piece of foam. With age that foam deteriorates and no longer retains it's shape. So the plates over time get closer and closer together as the foam flatennes out until finally (usually while the neighborhood is asleep-don't know how it knows) the horn blows constantly. This seems to first happen when the weather gets cold, I guess it's yet another example of how shrinkage is bad. I had to take the steering wheel apart and using the metal plates as a form, cut a new piece of foam in the same shape as the old one. It's a little tricky but it works.
You should never do electrical work on a vehicle without disconnecting the battery. Saying that, if you are making these connections correctly you will not blow a fuse. You are doing something wrong.
Try completely disconnecting the battery for 1 hour then reconnect it. That should reset some door that controls the airflow. I just experienced hot air blowing on the pass side and cold air on the drivers side. I did the reset and now I have heat on both sides. Hope it works for you.
It is usual to disconnect the Earth (-) terminal first then if you accidently touch the car body with the spanner as you are disconnecting the Live (+) terminal you won't complete a circuit so you won't cause a spark and risk possibly blowing a fuse.
not usually!!if fuse is blowing out check for short!!
It's due to your car not having freon go and get it charged. The cold air is from you driving!
Your battery and alternator need attention. It sounds as if the charging is faulty and your battery has degraded.
Dead short in system Try disconnecting: Wiring to compressor Wiring to blower motor to try to isolate where problem is
You can unclog your cars air conditioning lines by disconnecting the lines and blowing air through them. It may be just as easy to purchase air conditioning lines.
if car is blowing cold air, you need to check the thermostat, the heater core, and the heat control. the coolant will not blow cold air unless there is no coolant at all in engine, then you have bigger problem anyway
would it be my voltage regulator or a wiring problem
You may have the wires for your horn crossed with the battery wire. This would cause the horn to go off any time the battery is connected.
If a Jeep Grand Cherokee's air conditioner is not blowing any air it could mean that the blower motor has went out. Also the AC controls could be bad.
