If you are not able to adjust it down with the idle adjust knob you may have an airleak at the carb.
Round plastic knob right below air-cleaner.
On my 1980 Honda CB650 there is a small knob on the right hand side (when you are sitting on the bike) should be under the fuel tank. Turn it in for higher idle and out for lower idle.
under the carb you will see a little black knob. turn it which ever way until the idle gets to the way you want it
Sorry for my English I will do my best to explain this. The carbs of this Honda Magna have a knob in the middle of the carbs. It is for idle adjust, but is the problem is bigger you have to clean the carbs, check the jets and diaphragms is better if you can use an air compressor or maybe a vacuum sincronizer.
On most motorcycles, there is a small plastic knob (sometimes metal) near the carburetor. I have a 1986 Honda Shadow VT700C and the idle adjustment is a white screw knob just next to the air intake on the left side. If you tighten this knob (or turn it clockwise) it will increase the idle. If you loosen it or turn it counter clockwise, you will lower the idle. On my motorcycle I try to keep the RPM just below 1000. The way the idle adjustment works is as follows. When you let go of the throttle on the motorcycle, the throttle resets to its idle position. This is most often a pin that the throttle rests on. Screwing this pin in further causes the idle to rest at a higher position, and thus a higher RPM and vice versa. A word of warning though, if your bike is having engine trouble and doesn't want to keep running in idle, don't just adjust the idle position. Check to make sure you don't have any other more serious problems with your motorcycle. I've also included a link to a picture of what the assembly looks like. (picture from a Honda rebel)
there is black knob on side of carbs turn clockwise to increase rpms
idle needle runs upward in between the carb intakes (between 2nd and 3rd carb) and has a black plastic thumb knob. Good luck if it hasn't been adjusted in a while because the thumb knobs are usually stripped by now
On the rear of the carb there should be a black plactic knob on a shaft with a spring. You will probably have to take the air cleaner housing off. Tightenen to idle up, loosen to idle down.
== Is this engine the plastic cowling with idle knob and choke knob on the front pull it to choke and turn to raise idle? = Read more: http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1dpbt-25-hp-mercury-outboard-water#ixzz0HH1RenQM&B
On the carb, on the bottom side facing out. should be a black knob you can turn with your fingers.
Hi My 500r has a knurled knob that can be accessed from the left side at the rear of the carbs. Clockwise increases idle rpm. Ride Safe Roger M.
