This one is alittle tough to explain through text. Open the hood, now go to the passanger side of the car, see the silver intake plenum (says ECCS on it) on look all the way to the left, see the two hoses, look underneath them for a hole. through that holse is the screw, you will need a stubby screw driver to turn it.
Idle is computer controlled, no adjustment screw.Idle is computer controlled, no adjustment screw.
Turn the Idle Adjusting screw.
its on the iacv (intake air control valve). it sits on the back of the intake manifold. look for a really big flat head screw The idle adjust screw on a 90 240sx is on the throttle body. unplug your throttle position sensor before making adjustments. (corrected myself)
it's located on the passenger side, on the rear of the intake manifold facing the strut tower.
There should be an idle screw right by or under your throttle
it should be on the throttle body
adjust your idle...the idle screw needs to be pulled left.
on top of the upper intake there is a screw. it can be used to adjust idle speed.
If your idle was fine and then just became high, don't adjust the idle control screw. Your problem would be indicative of another issue. Perhaps a vacuum leak. turn the idle control screw to the left ... no neither of those.....your are getting air that is accounted for by the mass air flow sensor....there for its either a) throttle plate not closing or b) idle air controller stuck open.
1989-1990 240sx 1990-1997 Hard body 1990-1995 Pathfinder 1989-1995 Axxess 1990-1992 Stanza They are all the same engine.
Set idle speed to proper r.p.m, by adjusting the IDLE SPEED SCREW. Turn the IDLE MIXTURE SCREW or the AIR SCREW to for correct procedure, achieve highest speed and best response. The IDLE MIXTURE SCREW (FCR) controls fuel delivery to the idle port and the SCREW is located on the engine side of the carburetor slide. Turning the IDLE MIXTURE SCREW out will make idle and off-idle richer. Turning IDLE MIXTURE SCREW (CR, PWK, PJ, PE) controls the amount of air to the IDLE and SLOW CIRCUIT. This SCREW is located on the air cleaner side of the throttle slide and turning the SCREW out will lean the mixture and turning the SCREW in (clockwise) will richen the mixture.
From reviews I found on Cars.com from when the 240sx first came out: the coupe weighs 2,657 and the hatch weighs 2,684.
