It is called a, Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. NOT A SENSOR
If you follow the Air Intake line from the air filter box to the engine you will see were it clamps onto the Throttle plate houseing, And if you look at the right side of it you will see it on the top right side. It will have a electricle connector on it, that's it.
The one that is underneith it is called a (TPS) Throttle Position Sensor.

The idle speed is read by the Engine Control Module(computer) and adjusted as necessary by use of the idle air control in conjunction with the throttle position sensor. There is no separate idle sensor as such.

have the throttle sensor checked or reboot your cars computer. Disconnect your battery for about 15 minutes, hocke it back up an let it idle. If the sensor isn't bad, things should be ok after a few minutes.
Could be Throttle Position sensor... it will make it idle high, and also it can make it idle low... it opperates the injectors, firing and all... a vehicle can run without the TPS but it will run rough.
There is no such part as an idle sensor. Idle speed is a computer output that involves dozens of inputs.
