Module is mounted on the left side of the firewall, near the top. It should be a little flat (TFI) gray module mounted in a finned heat sink. Ford moved them off the distributor to reduce heat damage.
The 1989 Ford Ranger pickup truck ignition module is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The ignition module will be on the drivers side of the firewall.

1994 was the last year the Ranger used an ignition control module on the 2.3 and 2.5. The ignition control module was attached to the lower intake manifold.

A 66 Mustang regardless of engine doesn't have an ignition module from the factory. It uses breaker points inside of the distributor housing to directly control the ignition coil.
