The module is underneath the 3 coil packs where the spark plug wires originate. Pull 6 screws - 2 each side of each of the 3 coil-packs and pull them up. The coils are connected by 2 rigid spades pointing up to each coil pack. the ignition module has a multi-wired plug at one end. A small wrench (7 mm I think) is required to remove the wiring harness connector as it is bolted into the module, which should now be free from the plate it rests on. There ya go!....TiG
what is the wiring position for the ignition module on a 1990 Buick Park Avenue?
The ignition module is located under the three ignition coils. The same bolts that hold the coils in place also retain the module to the mounting bracket. To find the coils, follow the ignition wires from the front of the engine to where they attach at the rear. The wires clip to the coils.
Behind the waterpump. It has the spark plug wire leading into it. Chris
Disconnect the battery. Remove the ignition coils. Remove the ignition control module that was under the coils, and replace it.
It is located behind the glove compartment box. Remove the glove compartment box door and you will see a control module. The BCM is located BEHIND the module in front. I replaced mine and it wasn't too difficult.
