It depends on your existing career experience because if your (educational and training) background does not meet with minimum requirements for the job posting, then you will be screened and eliminated out of consideration for the job even if you have done that kind of job for many years.

Some practical people say that if you don't qualify and tell the truth, you will be skipped, but if you leave the information out, or lie, that at least you might get a job interview.

My brother has told me stories of several persons he knew in high school who lied and got very good jobs, and kept them. Had these people not lied, they would certainly be unemployable--with no or few job qualifications. What do you want?

When I write my resume, I'm honest because I have a decent education. I place this information right after my name, address, email, and phone number in its own section entitled education or similar such title. If you want to lie, you can make something up for this section that matches the job requirements stated in the job posting so that at least you get an interview out of the resume preparation and sending exercise. Obviously, as soon as they do a higher security background check, your deception will be revealed, and you will be fired.

Incidentally, The Mendip Hills are about 50km south of Bristol, England. ... In the past various types of mining took place there and the Law below, as judged by the language used, is several 100 years old. ...

"If any man... do pick or steale any lead or ore to the value of xiiid, the Lord or his Officer may arrest all his lead and Oare House or hearthes with his Grooves and Workes and keep them in forfeit... and shall take the person that hath soe affeended and bring him where his house or worke and all his tooles and instruments are... and put him into his house or worke and set fire in all together about him and banish him..."

Firing in the old days was pretty cruel--house burned down, and banishment from the city / town.
