Where is the knocking sensor located on 1990 Toyota 4Runner?

Its located deep inside the motor, between the heads. You have to dismantle the the whole top of the motor to get to it. I just had a blown head gasket repaired, and the mechanic showed me the knock sensor and said that while the heads were off and the engine was stripped down, and he could actually get to it, that I should replace the wires leading to the sensor.
