Look for the crankshaft position sensor right next to the timing belt pulley at the driver's side of the crankshaft where it exits the front of the block. It is located inside the lower front timing cover and is mounted onto the block itself.
It is a LOT of work to get the engine torn down far enough to access it. You may want to test it/have it tested before digging in that deep as they rarely fail.
By the way, they mount in a fixed position which is NOT adjustable (IE you cannot advance the timing by moving it around etc).
