It is located in the air intake duct work, to the left of the air filter. Look for 2 wires leading to the sensor unit from the outside to pinpoint it's exact location in the housing/duct.
That's where you would spray an electronic cleaner* to try an eliminate a check engine code reporting a MAF sensor problem.
* Do NOT use plain old carb cleaner or the like - ask at the parts store for the right kind of cleaner to use in order to avoid damaging this very expensive sensor.
The mass air flow sensor is inside the air intake housing - to the left of where the air filter is located.
AnswerThere should be a hose clamp holding the air intake tube on. Loosen this clamp. Discconnect the ait sensor from the part you just unclamped. Release the clamp thing that holds the other end of the tube to the air filter box. Remove this hose to get it out of your way. Now what you should see is a square shaped sensor that covers the opening toward the engine. There will be four screws. Remove the screws and diconnect the connector. It should be off now. Hope this helps. Answerhttp://www.berrysweb.com/clean_your_maf.htmThe MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor is located as follows: If you follow the air cleaner cone shaped housing located on the drivers side of car running parallel with the battery, follow cone housing left of battery to engine , you will see two Phillips head screws at the end of cone housing. there is a 3-wire electrical plug connecting directly to the (maf sensor ) hope this info helps
The sensor end is inside the air duct housing - to clean the rather delicate sensor rods, open up the housing like you're going to replace the air filter - spray the appropriate electronic cleaner inside the half that is towards the engine (per the above information)
Answerlocated in the rubber corragated tube leading from the air cleaner round boxIt is mounted in the air duct between the air filter and the throttle body.
Disconnect the air duct as though you were going to change the air filter.
The MAF (mass airflow) sensor is in the left side of the ductwork.
NOTE - be darned good and sure to get cleaner that is MAF / Sensor SAFE! Just check the cleaners on the shelf, or ask the sales people for the right product.
Between the air filter and the throttle body in the intake housing. It has a few wires running into it. Be careful it is a wire of about 5 thousandths thickness. It can be cleaned with an aerosol of electronic cleaner or can be replaced.

It's inside of the hard plastic cylinder between the rubber Accordion and the air filter housing.
where is mass air flow sensor located at on a 2011 ford fusion 4 cylinder
Get a can of mass air flow sensor cleaner and clean the maf sensor
where is air flow relay on 2000 ford windstar
On a 1998 Ford Windstar : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the top section of the engine air filter housing and the engine air intake tube
The Mass Air Flow sensor is located on top of the air filter housing on Ford Explorer.
The intake air temperature(IAT) sensor is located in the air cleaner box. this vhicle uses a combionation IAT /MAF(mass air flow) sensor. 6 wires are connected to it.
P0401 means no flow at the dpfe sensor. Usually a bad sensor. or bad hoses from egr ports to dpfe.
On a 2001 Ford Windstar : The Mass Air Flow sensor is INSIDE the round shaped plastic housing between the engine air filter and the engine air intake tube * you will see where the wires go into the bottom of the housing
On a 2001 Ford Explorer : The Mass Air Flow sensor is located between the engine air filter housing and the large diameter engine air intake tube
On a 1994 Ford Explorer : The Mass Air Flow sensor is located between the top section of the engine air filter housing and the engine air intake tube
On a 2002 Ford Windstar , 3.8 liter V6 engine : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the cone shaped engine air filter and the engine air intake tube . It is INSIDE a round shaped plastic housing
On the intake housing.
