You can buy a Haynes Manual that will have that information. The ignition switch is on the column near the bottom. It is slotted so that you can adjust it. The neutral safety switch mounts there as well.

The battery cable on the positive side goes to the starter. The purple wire goes from the ignition switch to the neutral safety switch then down to the starter. On the solenoid the is a "R" and that is where the wire from the coil goes. The "R" means resistor

This is the same cruise control switch that Ford has recalled other models due to fire danger. If it goes bad, it allows brake fluid to leak onto your neutral safety switch and shorts it out.I took my Windstar to the shop with transmission problems, then back again the next day for what was diagnosed as the neutral safety switch. When they went to change it, they observed that it was covered with brake fluid and the bad cruise control switch.Whether your cruise control switch is bad or good, please have it disabled and repaired to protect your self from the risk of fire. Google "Ford Windstar Cruise Control Switch" to get more information on this recall and the other Ford models such as our Windstars that have this exact same faulty switch.Good luck with that neutral safety switch.
