If its a V8, it's the driver's side front. If its a V6 (like my 3.4 '95) it's the front RIGHT. Rule of thumb is, the cylinder head that is further forward has the #1 cyl.
It is the second from the front on the driver side.
It is in the bottom side of the oil pan.
Advance 3-4 degrees if you run regular octane. and number 1 is on the driver side, towards the front of the car.
Check plug wires I had this problem with my 1999 camaro new wires fixed it.
It will be on the driver side of the engine....next to the oil filter.

Could be a bad spark plug, a bad spark plug wire or a bad fuel injector.
The firing order on the Chevy camaro is 18436572 -- 1,3,5,7 being on the left (driver side) front to back and the 2,4,6,8, being right side -- front to back !

On a 1999 Ford Contour , 2.5 litre V6 engine : firewall 1-----2-----3 4-----5-----6 front of vehicle > driver
You will probably have to drop the exhaust header off the engine to have enough room to get to it.
Firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6 Distributor rotates clockwise. Number 1 plug is located on passenger's side front of engine. Number 2 plug is on front of engine driver's side and so on.
