Like every other vehicle in existence, the oil pan is located on the bottom of the block!

The best way to correct the light is to change your oil, but if you have done this and the light is still there the solution is to take down the oil pan and clean all the metal left from the engine wear. this happened to me on my Chevy silverado 1500HD taking down the oil pan solved the problem. remember to torque the oil pan to manufactures suggested torque specification IT'S IMPORTANT
find the oil pan underneath the vehicle. there is a drain plug toward the rear of the pan. undo it and the oil will come a flowin'. change your filter while you are at it.

If you are referring to the oil filter, the answer is NO! The oil filter is not located inside the oil pan. If you are talking about the transmission filter, the answer is Yes. The transmission pan must be removed the change the A/T filter.
It will be in the bottom of the oil pan.
