Although I don't have exact location details, the oil filter itself is a "drop-in" cartridge style filter, about 6 inches long and only 2-3/4 inches in diameter. It's a fairly "skinny" filter, compared to typical oil filters. The filter fits inside a housing ... which in many cases is located under the hood, near the top part of the engine. The housing will have a cap that unscrews, with the filter inside the housing. You might want to do a search on any of the popular Mercedes discussion forums such as mbworld for more details and to verify the exact location. (It's quite possible, in newer models, the filter might be located under the engine rather than near the top).
