I haven't looked on my '96 GT, and the manual just says "somewhere near the oil filter".
Oil pressure sending unit is right behind your oil filter base.
its a Mazda engine . ( DOHC 4cyl. 16 valve 2.0l ) For the probe 1993
With a 4.3L engine, the oil pressure sending unit is in the back of the engine just to the drivers side of the distributor.

The oil pressure sending unit is on top of the engine at the back. It is right beside of the distributor.

I am having the samew problem with my probe and a mchanic said it is the fuel pump sending unit. there is no fuse for it.

The sending unit for your oil pressure gauge is located on the drivers side of the engine , below the power steering pump on your 4.0 L - OHV engine
If you checked the pressure with the sending unit in the car, it is possible the sending unit itself may be bad!
