I do believe that the oil sensor in a 1996 Jaguar tells you how much oil you have and it tells you the oil temperature.

The oil pressure sensor is on the front of the engine, just to the side of the oil filter.
The oil pressure light comes on if the car is out of oil, or the oil pressure sending unit is malfunctioning. Check oil level, if oil is up to fill level then your oil pump is bad. DO NOT DRIVE the car. Have it towed to a Jaguar dealership or other reputable garage.
The oil sensor is on the forward side of the block ,just above the oil filter
Depends what you mean by an oil sensor. It almost certainly has an oil pressure sensor, yes. Likely located by the top half of the engine.
It is called an oil pressure sensor socket.
The oil pressure sensor is on the right hand side(looking from front of car) of the oil pan, or a little higher than the oil pan. It is a sensor plug that looks like it is plugged onto the engine itself.
Oil pressure is low, oil pressure sensor has failedOil pressure is low, oil pressure sensor has failed
under the car engine, between the oil filter and the starter
There is no change oil light on a 98 sentra. The light you are seeing is a low oil pressure light. check your oil if its good then the oil pressure sensor is bad.
No, a defective oil pressure sensor will not harm the engine as long as the oil pressure is what it should be. However, how do you know what the pressure is if the sensor is bad. Replace the sensor so that you can receive a warning if the oil pressure drops below what is optimum.
