It's on the drivers side of the engine right above the oil pan rail. It can also be on the driver's side behind the timing cover.
Did you check the -- sending unit !!
A pressure sensor allows the AC to turn on if there is enough refrigerant. If the pressure is too low it will never turn on. Of course, there are other possibilities, but that's a good place to start.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe on a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer , 4.0 liter , SOHC , V6 engine that the oil pressure sending unit is on the front of the engine in the area where the lower radiator hose connects to the water pump
The cabin air filter on a Mercury Mountaineer is located on the passenger side of the vehicle. The unit is behind the glove box and can be replaced by removing the glove box.
Your engine oil could be low check it when it cools and if level is fine your oil pressure sending unit could be bad or engine in need of rebuilding
torr
You lift the vehicle and lower the fuel tank. The fuel sending unit is removed from the top, and the pump can be wiggled out of the unit.
On a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer , 5.0 liter ( 302 cubic inch ) V8 engine : The engine oil pump is INSIDE the engine oil pan According to my Haynes repair manual in order to remove the oil pan ( to get access to the oil pump ) THE ENGINE HAS TO BE REMOVED * the engine oil pressure sending unit is on the OUTSIDE of the engine beside the engine oil filter
If it is the same as a2004, you end up removing the whole unit. Screws on tailgage side of lenss.
Front drivers side of the engine. Behind the alternator. Hard to see and get to. It has a white plug with one wire. Fords oil pressure sending units are not real sending units. Your oil pressure gauge is a glorified idiot light. Its either on or off, always in the middle. I put a real pressure gauge in mine.
Because is not only a millimeter (distance) but a true unit of pressure: the pressure exercised by an 1 millimeter column of mercury on a specified area. 1 mm col. Hg = 13,595 1 mm col. H2O = 133,322 4 Pa .
