According to the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner Guide : ( 5W-20 engine oil ) is used for both the 3.0 liter Vulcan and Duratec engines
That's the OEM recommended oil...
5W-20 , according to the Owner Guide
I would use 10W30 in the engine

there is no oil pressure in my 1997 ford taurus, but the oil is full?
Oil in the radiator or water in the oil which will show up as white gloopy stuff on the oil level stick.
