The old message boards for this site are gone. The individual messages are still accessible by Admins as necessary to research historical events on the site, but the boards are gone and have been replaced with new ones that don't have the same limitations from a software perspective.
You know who has a message board simply by looking if they are an ID or not. An ID is a guest user, and is not given a message board. On the other hand, a registered user has a message board.
That is because the message board system is based on an old design and it can't handle two people posting messages at the same time. In the future we will reprogram the message board code and then this won't be a problem any longer.
Message boards are for the use of clarifying a question, but not as a chat board. See the FAQ for message board usage.
This was one of a couple of bugs in the old message board layout. If you deleted your own posts, it might say in your contributions that you deleted from someone else's board. Also, if a supervisor deleted something from your board, you might still get the credit. However, these scenarios are not possible anymore.
It doesn't stand for anything. It just means exactly what it says... message board. In this case, an electronic message board. If you are signed in, on the left on of the links will be "My message board," where you can go to respond to people's messages to you.

If you accidentally remove a message from your message board, contact a supervisor. If you are a supervisor, you can revert message boards to previous states. Note that this will remove any changes that were made to the message board since the deletion of the post.
