First off never overfill Transmission Fluid or u will blow out all kinds of seals, but on my car there is none, u just put it in where the dipstick is using a funnel

318 Auto transmission has a filler plug located on the side of the transmission.
on the 5 speed manuel theres a plug on the side of the transmission, remove the plug and use a syphon pump to add fluid until it starts to pour out the hole. to remove the existing fluid remove the plug from the bottom of the transmission.

Automatic, the fluid can be added through the transmission dipstick tube. Standard, fluid has to be pumped in through a fill plug on the side of the trans.
you have to raise the vehicle and remove the plug from the transmission, then fill it with a pumping device.
Ford has no conventional way to check the transmission fluid on the 5R55N. The car has to be put on a lift and a goofy little plug pulled out of the side of the transmission. If the fluid level is at (or close) to the same level as the plug, you're OK. Not a job for home.

There is a plug on the side of the tranny. take it out. If fluid runs out, put the plug back in the hole and get on with life. If no fluid runs out, check your manual for what transmission fluid to use. Fill it till it runs out at the plug a bit. Be sure to use the transmission fluid recommended for Chevy S10 5 speed manual transmissions.
It all depends if it's a automatic or a manual transmission? If it's a automatic there is a pan on the bottom side of the transmission that you have to remove. There should be a filter screwed to the underneath of the transmission after the pan is removed. Now if it's a manual transmission to drain the fluid. There should be a plug close to the bottom on driver side or passenger-side. Take the plug out drain all the fluid put the plug back in. To fill the transmission with fluid there is a plug on the side of the transmission up higher than the drain plug. It could be on the driver side or the passenger-side take the plug out. Go to the auto-parts store purchase some gear oil recommended for that transmission. Pump gear oil into the transmission until it starts to come out of the side plug once this happens the transmission is filled to the proper level Put The plug back in.
remove the transmission pan cover ..on the passenger side of the transmission there is a drain plug.... you must pump it in...
