What type of primary circuit is used when lighting makes up the substantial portion of the load?
In the US most residential an a fair amount of commercial lighting is done with 110 volt 15 or 20 amp Alternating Current (AC) curcits. A large amount of office lighting is done with 277 volt 15 amp ac curcits. Some is done with 240 volt ac and some with 480 volt ac, but these ar usually in industrial or large area applications. There is also 208 and other source power applications but these are rarer still. LED, Florecent and other types of lighting is supplied through transformers with various voltages from 2 or 3 volts up to 10 or 15000 volts at very low amprages. The general rule is to accomplish the lighting requirements with the most efective and efficent possible amps and curcits based on the available power supply scource. The Luxo website boast that the Luxo L1 (the classic model of 1937)is the original "architect" lamp. This however means very little as the design was copied from the original British "Anglepoise" lamp designed by George Corwardine in 1933 and produced by Terry Lighting (now Anglepoise).
Why do you use aluminum compression connectors for both copper and aluminum wire?
There are many types of conectors avaliable. Some alum. and other conectors are ratted for both alum. and copper wire. It is easier and cost efective to stock only one type rather than two. Always use a conector ratted for the size and type of wire that you are using. Your suplier should be able to help you determine the proper conector. If not get a licensed electrician to help. Hello, My name is Terry and I am a help expert in the building and construction field. Yes, it is possible to construct a treated lumber foundation. It must however, be constructed and inspected by your local building department. There are minimum specifications that can be obtained from the International Residential Code, International Building Code, Universal Building Code, California Building Code and other codes that are specific to different areas of the country. You must work closely with your building official to determine which code you should be following. Structural design is the basis for safety and durability in a structure, and should always be completed by a competent individual. In my area we require that licensed design professionals such as structural engineers and architects be involved with most designs. With wood foundations, moisture and pest deterioration are probably the most significant issues. In some areas, such as California, seismic considerations are also in effect. It is always best to verify CODE SPECIFIC information with your local Building Official and/or Building Department as local laws and codes do tend to vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
