In the glovebox. My 69 has a lever below the glovebox on the side of the firewall just behind the gas door
Look under the dash, to the left of the steering column. You will find the lever to release the gas door cover.
There is a lever to the left of the driver's seat by the door and on the floor. Pull to release the trunk, push to release the gas cover door.

there is no latch inside the vehicle. When the doors are unlocked, push on the left side of the tank cover and it will spring open.
A 2013 Ford Focus has Fords Easy Fuel system , so there is no gas cap ( but there is a cover door )

if your talking about the gas-tank fill door-the release lever is located just above the trunk release lever (on most models with interior fill-door release). it is marked with a "gas pump with hose".
