The starter relay is located in the power distribution box in your engine compartment
It is relay # 6 ( Ford suggests disconnecting your battery before servicing anything
in the PD BOX - which means your Explorer will have to relearn its idle , the radio clock
and stations will have to be reset etc. ) according to the owners manual
