Where is the speed sensor at on a 1991 Chevrolet Lumina Van?

The speed sensor on a 90 lumina 3.1 should be on the drivers side top of the tranny, below the steering rod. Sould be a screw in sensor with wires attached.

AnswerMy 92 Chevy lumina did the exact same thing, it turned out to be my crank sensor, and crack sensor wiring.

The 1991 Geo speed sensor is located on the side of the transmission. The speed sensor will be on the left-hand side of the transmission.

Remove the negative battery cable then the cables off of the starter then the bolts holding it on and work it out.new answerOn the 3.1 engine, you will definitely have to remove the oil filter and possibly the crank position sensor.

I have a 1990 prelude that is in the dealership as I write this to have the speed sensor replaced. I have just been told that it is on the transmition. It is a sensor.

oN THE 91 FORD CROWN VICTORIA YOU WILL LOCATE THE SPEED SENSOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION ON THE TAIL SHAFT.
