Slide in under the truck behind the passenger side front wheel and look up at the back side of the engine and you will see it. It has electric wires going to it and has 2 bolts holding it to the engine.

my 1999 chevy tahoe 5.7 was located in front of the oil pan, and not above the starter as so many said it would be....

The crankshaft position sensor is located right above the starter, you may have to remove the starter for better visibility.
