under hood, bottom back of motor. fairly easy.1.disconect negative battey terminal2.raise vehicle. place on jack stands for safety3.from under vehicle remove the starter brace4.remove the wire harness from brace on transaxle bellhousing5.remove the two bolts holding the starter. 6.lower slightly to gain access to the wires on the starter solenoid. disconnect electrial connectors from solenoid terminals.7.remove from engine
It is located on the passenger side in the back of the motor The best way to get to it is from underneath the car. It is hard to find but it there. It tucked away
On a 98 venture the starter is located in front and just under radiator. Simple to reach and change. I learned the hard way.

I just found the relay on my 1999 sc2.I have a standard tranny and I followed the wires from the clutch safety switch. My relay was up under the dash on the drivers side taped with electrical tape to the harness. Hard to see get agood flashlight. Probably at the top of starter- follow the + battery cable should connect to starter solenoid (relay)
The Starter is located right under the intake manifold on the left side.. pretty hard to get to...
the starter it's self is about $100 it's not to hard to replace just under the breather at the front of the engine

It's your starter solenoid. Toys are hard to replace just the solenoid. replace the starter!!!!!
You have to remove that starter through the top of the engine compartment PLEASE BE PATIENT It's not that hard.... but you get dirty because it's in a hard to reach spot. You will neeed to have a range of extentions with the wobble feature or a universal joint.
