On a 1990 Chrysler New Yorker, the starter relay is built into the starter. The starter is located on the front of the engine, behind the engine mount.
Postive battery cable should connect to the starter relay (solenoid)
the inhibitor relay is between the a/c relay and the cornering relay
On the underside, passenger side, of the transmission.
Look at the lower rear end of the engine

The starter relay for 1990 Ford Rangers is located above the front passenger side tire wheel well. It it bolted to the support wall right in front of the fuse box.
There is no fuel kill switch on the 1990 Nissan Maxima. There is a fuel pump relay switch that can cause the fuel to be suppressed.
Try the starter relay next to the battery, there are 3-4 relays mounted in a holder next to the battery, one is for the starter, I think it's the one closest to the battery.
The starter solenoid is located on top of the starter. It is the small cylinder attached to the starter. It is a part of the starter which can be replaced/repaired independent from the starter itself.
