Hi,
All of the GM vehicles solenoids are located directly on top of the starter. These are usually sold as a unit with the starter, however, with a little research online, or at your local auto parts store you can buy just the solenoid if you want too. However, the price difference might only be 50 bucks or so. Considering the difficulty to change it, you might as well get the new starter with it.
Also, you may need to remove the coil packs to get it out. I'm not sure about your vehicle.
