It is located down behind the alternator. The thermostat comes with the the housing attached to it for about $25.00
The thermostat, on a 2005 Chevrolet trailblazer, can be replaced by first removing the water hose. Next, remove the three housing bolts. Take the thermostat out and replace with a new thermostat.

The thermostat is located below the alternator on the drivers side. The coolant sensor is right above the thermostat.
