I have a 95 and I'm pretty sure that they are the same. It's on the top of the engine where the radiator hose is attached. Remove the two screws and it lifts right out. I doesn't even have a gasket to scrape off and replace. Just a rubber seal around the thermostat that seals it. Its a fairly easy job.
