the thermostat is located under the left side of the engine under the car, so you will have to jack it up , it is black plastick and has one radiator hose an 2 bolts holding it. to make it easier to find if you follow the dipstick down under the car it is just under where the dipstick enters the sump
thermostat should be located behind lower radiator hose, engine side. it is located low as most are located high. can you give me a picture
The 2003 Subaru thermostat is located inside of the thermostat housing, on the front of the engine. The thermostat will be near the bottom of the engine.
well i have a 97 legacy but if you have a 2.2 ltr engine then it will b in the same spot. my thermostat is located where the bottom rad hose goes into the engine block. if u look u should c the thermostat housing there with 2 bolts holding it in place.
On the bottom of the engine toward the left, front corner. Trace the lower radiator hose from the radiator back and the thermostat is in the plastic housing where that hose meets the engine.

Cooling system thermostat is at the bottom of the engine. Look for the lower radiator hose and trace it back to where it attaches to the engine block. Bingo!
I have a 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback and it have the thermostat on the right bellow the engine. You can fallow the hose from the radiator that goes to the bottom of the engine.
