I have a 98, but it's probably the same. opening the hood, look straight at the engine block (top). To the right is the distributor (collection of spark plug cables). Between that and the engine will be a small vertical plug about the same size as a sparg plug sticking up out of some sort of box with a wire harness on it (with two wires). That's the thermostat...i only know because I just had mine replaced. Seems these mystiques have a bad temperature problem!
