the thermostat is inside a black plastic housing, it is inside the housing assembly where both radiator hoses meet up by the engine. one cannot replace just the thermostat, the whole housing has to be replaced, good luck. For easier access, remove the fan assembly (just one allen-bolt on the passenger side and a plastic rivet on the driver side).
