There are three different types of 3.0L V6 for Mercury Sable late 90s early 2000s.. the Vulcan OHV, SOHC, DOHC 24V.... for the OHV its on the upper radiator hose on the drivers side.. with a 90 neck attached to the engine block.... the SOHC under the car on the lower hose on the pass side..
24V DOHC on a lower aluminum Tee that has two 8mm blots and three rubber hoses clamped to it between the engine block and the battery..
if you check your VIN # the 8th digit, is either an S or a U.. for the OHC..
S= DOHC, U = SOHC.... very different engines
