All thermostats are basically in the same spot on most engines. Look at the coupling between the top most radiator hose and the engine. There is the housing for the thermostat.
OK, you have a 1989 S-10 Blazer. What is your question?
Next to the thermostat housing.
I just changed the thermostat on my 93 4.3 and the bolt is a metric size, unfortunately I don't remember what size it was, 12, 13, or 14 millimeter should cover it.
If you have no dash lights at all on your 1989 S10 Blazer, a blown bulb can be the problem. You should also check the fuse.
It should have a 195 degree thermostat.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine, the thermostat is under the housing the hose connects to.
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. It is attached to the thermostat housing. Removing the thermostat housing will expose the thermostat.
