It is located between the bottom radiator hose and the engine. The water flow is reversed on this car. The thermostate goes "SPRING SIDE" into the engine. Don't fortet to bleed the air out of the cooling system when you fill it again. (Look near the top hose and engine to find the bleeder valve.)
The 2001 Chrysler 3.5 engine is an interference engine.
Follow the lower radiator hose to the engine and at that junction is the thermostat housing.
The thermostat is under the housing where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine.
Spring towards the engine.

Most likely the engine will overheat.

Drain the water from the cooling system. Remove the water supply hose. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Remove the thermostat. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
