if its got the 2.4, its not so bad, on a 3.4 such as in the Grand Am GT, its underneath the crossover pipe for the exhaust, and you need to remove the whole shebang just to swap the t-stat out.

Its not that bad u don't have to remove bumper on the a6 its got plenty of room. Just use Audi timing tool if you're worried about timing otherwise if you're experienced its not that bad everyone makes it sounds worse than it is.
