In the front of engine behind water pump and crankshaft
Perhaps the new timing chain is not set right. You may have to remove the front cover and take a look.

A timing CHAIN
0 degrees in drive bypass disconnected
All V8 Chevrolets have a timing chain.
An oil leak at the timing chain means that the seals are defective and must be replaced.
Yes 4 cylinder have chain and 6 have belts.
There is no maintenance schedule for replacing a timing chain. Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine and are normally replaced during a complete engine rebuild.
The timing chain is behind the timing cover which is behind the water pump. To get at it, you'll need to remove everything in front of the cover and loosen the oil pan a little.
right in front of the crankshaft pulley beside the oil filter....is the timing chain cover(two timing chain...#1 on the crankshaft sprocket, #2 on the cam sprocket. Need to lower the engine to access the timing chain. Timing chain, not necessary to be replace, unless they broke loose.Other than that it remain with the life of the van.
It is a chain in a 93, I would think it would be in a 92 as well.
