a 91' or 92' Ford Taurus.
An 87 model year would be an LTD Crown Victoria, and those has the AOD automatic transmissions. 80 - 86 Ford LTD, 80 - 93 Ford Thunderbird, 80 - 93 Mercury Cougar, 84 - 93 Ford Mustang, 80 - 86 Mercury Marquis, 80 - 87 Lincoln Continental, 80 - 83 Lincoln Mk. VI, 83 - 93 Ford Econoline van, 83 - 92 Mercury Grand Marquis, 82 - 93 Ford Bronco, 81 - 92 Lincoln Town Car, 80 - 87 Lincoln Continental, 84 - 92 Lincoln Mk. VII, 80 - 88 Ford F-Series pickups, 92 Ford Crown Victoria, and, of course the 80 - 87 Ford LTD Crown Victoria all used the same automatic transmission. In the case of the Bronco and F-Series, naturally, the donor transmission would have to come out of a 2WD vehicle, and not a 4WD one.

no & yes, yes it will bolt up to your engine, but to make it function, you will have to add a transmission computer to your ride. GM sells these for the conversion. Unfortunately, like everything else from GM it is expensive. The 4L60E is an electronoic computer controled transmission where as a 700R4, also known as a 4L60 ,uses the computer only for converter clutch lock up in the 92 model cars. I asume your car is a 92.

NO it won't bolt to the 92 transmission. Plus the 92 computer and wiring harness and fuel pump is different and the motor mounts are different among other things that you will run into.
If this vehicle is like the 92' then the switch is located in the trunk, drivers side, there should be a hole already cut out for it, just turn it off.
The Nissan stanza has a 4-speed auto transmission. It shifting is electronically-operated . The transmission computer box is located in the center console. It is next to the ECM box.
The transmission may need a flush and filter, or in my 92 accord I solved the problem merely by changing the transmissions computer.
700 R4, the better way to tell is when the down shift cable is no longer present the transmission shifting is computer controlled 4L60E which is a more complex (computer controlled) version of the 700 R4. I looked at a 92 today and it had a 700 R4.
how do you change wheel barrings on a 92 lincion continental
