They don't have a dip stick, there is a plug on the driver's side of the box near the extension housing which you remove and fill to that level.
transmission dip stick
right in the transmission dip stick just pop out and use a small funnel
if u cant find it more then likely its a sealed tranny
Nope, there is a low fluid sensor that will alert you when necessary.
The dip stick is on top of the valve cover in the middle, should have a yellow top.
Most of the 99 or later ones don't have a dipstick. There is a red plastic plug where you add fluid. I have a 99 & a 2000 that are that way.
No you will have to get a dip stick to suit the 99 laser go to a wreckers and tell them the year and what type of engine is in the car cheers colin
On 99 Passport it probably has a yellow handle end that you grab to pull the dip stick out it is located on the lefthand side of the engine.
You may want to check to see if the transmission line that runs underneath your battery is pinched. We recently had the same experience, and it was determined that when the battery was replaced, the transmission line was pinched because it sits directly underneath the battery.
The transmission oil cooler is located in the radiator. A leak that allows oil in the radiator will also allow coolant to enter the transmission doing great harm. Check the transmission , after driving and the oil is hot water vapor will come out of the dip stick tube.
There are two bolts on the bottom of the tranmission fluid pan. The lower of the two is the drain, and the higher of the two is the filler. YES, the filler is on the bottom of the pan. Warm the ATF by driving for 15 minutes or so, remove the filler plug and pump fluid up into the pan until it overflows out of the filler hole. Then cycle the tranny through the gears and couple times and refill. Personally, i'd check it again a couple days later after some driving. The '99 Honda Passport automatic transmission does not have a transmission dip stick. if it is a automatic pull trans. dip stick and add their if not it should be on side of trans. Pull the transmissionn dip stick, and get a small funnel, and pour the fluid in.
no it won't the 2000 has diffrent plugs by the dip stick its a six pin . i made that mistake and got a 99 at trans for my 2000 and notice its the same in a accent 97-99 and the elantra but change in 2000 hope this helps
