stand in front of the car and its right at the back on the right you need a long 1/2 inch square drive socket extension to reach it almost at the bottom of the hole there push the square end into the top turn it till the corner of the flat sides is in line with the spring arm holding it in and it will pull out
On 1995 and later 960s, there is no transmission dipstick. Level must be checked at the fitting on the transmission.
thats strange as my 1995 and 1997 models BOTH have dipsticks
That is odd.. My 1996 doesn't have one, nor is it mentioned in the owners manual. I did neglect to mention that mine is a 3.0 liter US model.

The transmission is filled through the dip stick tube. It is located beside the power brake booster near the firewall.
is it standard if so it will be underneath and it gets checked warm but not running
Inside the transmission.
The reset knob is located under a rubber grommet near the instrument panel or computer. Simply remove the grommet and use a screwdriver or stick to depress the knob.
The red stick is oil and there is no dip stick for transmission. Recommended to change transmission fluid every 70k miles.
